GRAND OPENING OF ADES CASH & CARRY, AFRICAN-CARRIBEAN FOODS

Ades African - Caribbean Foods Cash & Carry business was declared opened today a midst pomp and pageantry by the Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Cllr Denis Hyland with the support of Mr Kit Malthouse, Deputy Mayor for Business & Enterprise, City Hall; Helen Millichap - Divisional Borough Commander of Greenwich; Mr Sam Adelemi - Minister for Industry, Trade & Investment; Mr Lawrence Jones, Commercial Attache, Jamaican High Commission; Mr Koffi Addo, Head of Trade & Investment, Ghana a High Commission AND of course the event was Hosted by Dr Dayo Olomu

Ade was born in Nigeria in the late 60s. He attended secondary school in Nigeria and moved to England after completing his 'A' levels.
With his wife, Gbemisola, they reached a decision to open a business in the food industry and with determination and vigour they started.


They started the business on a small scale from a garage and through sturdy progress, overcoming obstacles such as raising capital, sourcing suppliers, they were able to secure a small warehouse in Charlton in 2005.

Two years later the first Cash & Carry was opened at Eastmoor Street, specializing in foods and drinks to the African/Caribbean community in the Royal Borough of Greenwich and others. Their steady growth has been as a result of their dedication and commitment as a team to its customers.

From a humble beginning in their small garage, Michael opened a huge complex today on a total floor area of 20,000 square feet. He currently employs 50 people and and he is set to employ 200 more people.
